Brookfield Place Food Court (aka Hudson Eats)

There are some coffee shops/cafes that feel like you're sitting in a middle of a wood-fire stove, while others feel like they are in a competition to see how cold they can blast their AC.
Brookfield is neither, rather it’s a place that seems to have invested in the best insulation in the world (quadruple-paned glass maybe?) and seems almost contemptuously impervious to the temperature outside. It excels in letting natural sunlight in and providing picture perfect views of the outdoors. That being said, if it’s a hot day, it is air conditioned. If it’s cold outside, it is heated. But you never feel the conditioning or heat blasting. As a bonus, you can walk straight from the oculus (the alien-whale-looking skeleton building) to the food court without ever stepping outside.
The food court is on the second floor accessible via the escalators by the courtyard closest to the water with pretty great views of some trees and the Hudson. The food court also upgraded all their seating in 2023 to be nice and padded and high-end. It's excellent for large groups. The outlets are mostly on the wall support columns between each window next to the tall counter seating. For fun, the mall itself has seasonal amenities like ice skating and special Christmas lighting in the winter, tennis and ping pong tables in the summer, or art exhibits (like 'Canstruction' artwork made of stacked cans), not to mention some high end shopping, one of the best movie theaters, Eataly, and a really nice area by the water to walk around to stretch your legs between work/study sessions.
If you’re a late-night studier/worker, the food court area with the outlets officially closes at 8pm most days, and if your laptop can hold a charge, the first floor by the indoor palm trees 🌴 is open to midnight once you lose the outlets
